Emergency Services

Dr. Fitzhugh and his team at Burleson Orthodontics are happy to accept emergency patients.

We provide emergency root canal procedures to alleviate the debilitating pain common with an infected root. Contact us right away if you believe you are experiencing a dental emergency and would like to see Dr. Fitzhugh today. We will do everything we can to accommodate your emergency appointment.

Root Canals and Retreatments

Dr. Fitzhugh's specialization in endodontics makes our dental office the optimal choice for root canal treatments, especially for patients who:

  • Have unique anatomies such as a small mouth or narrow root canals
  • Need retreatment for a previous root canal that didn't take or has become compromised
  • Want the best dental care outcome for their infected tooth
  • Need to visit a dentist ASAP to help alleviate pain caused by infection

Root canals can stop the pain in its tracks and save and protect a patient's natural tooth. Don't put off treatment for your tooth because waiting will only increase the pain and the potential for further damage.

Apical Surgery

When the infection runs deep enough into the tooth's roots, or the canals of the root are too narrow for the dentist to reach by drilling into the tooth, apical root surgery may be necessary to save the tooth and stop the pain.

By accessing the roots through the gums, the dentist can access the root tip and clean the tooth canals out, disinfect them, and seal them from the root.

Like a root canal, this procedure can be pain-relieving and tooth-saving. Proper diagnosis is required to know if apical root surgery is the best solution for each patient's dental needs.

Sedation Dentistry

It is common for patients to experience nervousness or anxiety when visiting the dentist. Some can manage it on their own, but for others, the stress involved can keep them from ever visiting the dentist.

At Burleson Endodontics, we don't want our patient's fears keeping them from needing treatment. We offer sedation dentistry to help patients. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of conscious sedation or IV sedation with Dr. Fitzhugh to determine if sedation dentistry is right for you.
