What is endodontic dentistry?

Patients often wonder how an endodontist differs from a general dentist. An endodontist has additional specialization in the specific care of problems relating to the pulp of the tooth.

While you wouldn't go to an endodontist for a cleaning or a filling, you would see an endodontist about a root canal.

Dr. Fitzhugh's additional specialization makes him the dentist you want to visit when you have an infected root that needs treatment.

Often when a tooth root becomes infected, the patient experiences significant pain; root canal therapy not only stops the pain caused by the infection it allows the tooth to stay in the mouth, a preferable outcome to having to pull the tooth out altogether for an implant.

Sometimes the pain caused by an infected root can be debilitating to the point where basic tasks become impossible. Burleson Endodontics can help you find relief. We are open five days a week and accommodate dental emergencies.
